Levi Shane of Posey county Indiana states that he was the son of Lucinda Shane, deceased, whose maiden name was Lucinda Houchins, a sister of Abner Houchins, deceased, of Pike county Illinois, and Thomas and James Houchins of Logan county Ohio. It also states that "the said Levi Shane and William Shane, of Allard Tennessee, George Shane of Chandler Ind., Mary Jane Fizgerald of Phillipstown Ill., Eliza Ingram of Evansville Ind., and Edward Shane of Evansville Ind. are the sole and only children of and heirs of Lucinda Shane, deceased".
